In 1963, a beacon of faith emerged in Detroit. A small group of believers from Centerfork Missionary Baptist Church, led by the generous spirit of Brother Clifford Mann, established Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Mann donated the very land on which Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church stands today. The original name chosen was Pleasant Hill Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. The first structure, a modest 36×60 foot building with a basement, became a place of worship by the spring of 1964. Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church quickly became a cornerstone of the community. Decades later, in 2003, the congregation voted for a significant expansion. Nearly 10,000 square feet were added to the original building. This expansion provided a larger fellowship hall, more classrooms, a gymnasium, and a new sanctuary. The growth of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church reflected its dedication to serving its community and its commitment to faith. The expansion allowed the church to offer even more to its members and the wider community. Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church continues to be a place where faith flourishes and lives are transformed.
