Have you ever felt the thrill of scaling a sheer rock face? Platosi a crag in west Parnitha invites you to do just that. It’s one of several crags but perhaps the most accessible. Just over the road to Fyli Chasia village you’ll find it. This remarkable place known sometimes as Chasia is a climber’s paradise.

Platosi boasts a characteristic cave a stunning focal point for many of its routes. Climbers have established beautiful and challenging routes here. The crag is north-facing making it perfect for summer climbing. Even on mild winter days you can climb here. However after rain many routes can get a bit drippy. The routes themselves vary in height from 15 to 30 meters. A 60-meter rope is sufficient for all climbs.

The rock itself is limestone of excellent quality. The bolting is generally good especially after the maintenance in Spring 2012. During that maintenance old unsafe bolts were replaced. This crag isn’t just about the physical challenge. It’s about the experience the connection with nature. Imagine yourself high above the valley the wind whipping through your hair. The view is spectacular.

Platosi’s significance extends beyond its climbing routes. It survived the devastating wildfires of August 2023 that affected many crags on Parnitha mountain. This speaks to its resilience and enduring appeal. This crag stands as a testament to both the power of nature and the human spirit that seeks to conquer it. Platosi is more than a crag. It is a place where you can test your limits connect with nature and leave feeling refreshed and invigorated. It is a place of enduring beauty a place to remember.
