Ever wondered why the landscape around San Marino is so unique? Today, we’re standing right on the edge of this unique world! This is the Pista della Baldasserona, also known as the Crossodromo “Pino Serra”. This remarkable motocross track has been a vital part of the history of motorsports in San Marino since 1968. The place is steeped in history and legend! The track was built on the border between Borgo Maggiore and the City of San Marino, nestled between the rolling hills of the area. Can you imagine the sheer determination that went into building this track? It’s said that volunteer after volunteer came out with shovels and spades to help finish it, and even a Fiat 500 was used to test the track before it opened!

The track has been home to numerous international motorcycle races over the years. The first race on the track, the “6th FIM Trophy”, was held in 1973. This event was a landmark in the motorcycle racing calendar, and it helped to put the Pista della Baldasserona on the map! It is said that the renowned Italian motorcycle racer Renzo Pasolini, who was a local, came here and even gave his suggestions on the layout of the track. It was initially designed with sweeping curves which were later modified. Since 2017, after a renovation and new management, the track has been actively hosting motorbike races.

Pista della Baldasserona is a place where speed and skill merge with nature and tradition. From the moment you step onto the track, you can feel the intensity and the legacy of the great riders who have raced here. So, as you stand here on the edge of this track, think of the stories it holds. The stories of the determined volunteers, the skilled riders, and the passion that has built this place. Now, that’s a story worthy of being told!
