The name Pisgat Ze’ev, which means “Ze’ev’s Peak” in Hebrew, was chosen in honour of Ze’ev Jabotinsky, a prominent Zionist leader. Pisgat Ze’ev was established in 1982, and it quickly became one of Jerusalem’s most popular neighbourhoods, attracting families and young couples seeking affordable housing. The streets of Pisgat Ze’ev are a testament to Israel’s military history. Many are named after Israel Defense Forces units that fought in the country’s wars, like Sayeret Duchifat Blvd., HaSayeret HaYerushalmit St. and Sayeret Golani St. In this neighbourhood, you might even come across a hidden treasure – an archaeological park. In this park, you will find a memorial dedicated to the fallen soldiers of Israel, a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made for the country.
