Eighty people put their names on that petition, a powerful symbol of their shared vision. They chose the name “Pines” as a tribute to the lush, tree-filled landscape along Buffalo Bayou. Imagine those early days, the congregation first gathering in the nearby Frostwood School, their hopes and dreams echoing within those walls. It wasn’t long until they found a permanent home on Kimberley Lane, a plot of land carefully selected to nurture their blossoming community. By the end of that decade, Pines Presbyterian Church was a hive of activity, its congregation thriving, its ministries expanding, and its impact on the community growing stronger year after year. The church building we see today has evolved alongside its congregation, standing as a testament to their dedication and growth. Just imagine, those original folding chairs replaced with permanent pews, the walls expanded to accommodate the ever-growing family.
