“Pind”? What an odd name for a sculpture, you might think. We’re standing here before Kirsten Ortwed’s creation, a bronze piece simply titled “Pind,” which translates to “Stick” in English. Unveiled in 1989, the Pind Sculpture doesn’t boast a grand history or dramatic tales. Its beauty lies in its simplicity. Ortwed, known for her abstract works, invites us to contemplate the form itself. The way the bronze interacts with the light, the textures, the sheer presence of the “Stick” in this space. Sometimes, art whispers instead of shouting. “Pind” is one such whisper, encouraging quiet reflection and appreciation of the form.
