Walking up Glenmont, you can’t miss it. Pin Oak Middle School, a beacon of learning in Bellaire, Texas, stands proudly next to the bustling 610 loop and US 59. Pin Oak is a special place. It’s a magnet school, meaning students from across HISD apply to join its vibrant community. In its huge 174,500 square foot building, they immerse themselves in world languages, arts, and athletics. It’s a place buzzing with activity, where the halls echo with the sounds of laughter and learning. Once an 18-acre horse ranch, the grounds are now home to a football field, two soccer fields, tennis courts, and two baseball diamonds. Pin Oak even has a house system, where students are assigned a house for their three years and become part of a smaller family within the larger school. House C is reserved for the magnet students, who choose to focus on foreign language. There are so many things to learn. Did you know Pin Oak also has a Vanguard program for gifted and talented students? This school is truly a gem, a place where students blossom and grow. A reminder that learning isn’t just about knowledge, it’s about becoming a part of a community, a family. It’s a testament to the power of education and the possibilities that lie within each student.
