Before 1975 Phường Vĩnh Tân was part of Tân Phú Hiệp xã in Châu Thành district. Phường Vĩnh Tân is a ward in Tân Uyên town Bình Dương province Vietnam. It’s located in the western part of Tân Uyên town. It borders Tân Hiệp ward to the east Phú Chánh ward to the south and Thủ Dầu Một and Bến Cát towns to the west. Phường Vĩnh Tân also shares a border with Bàu Bàng district. The ward covers an area of 32.41 square kilometers. In 2021 its population was 26820 people. That’s a population density of 828 people per square kilometer. The main road through the ward is DT 742 connecting Thủ Dầu Một and Cổng Xanh. Phường Vĩnh Tân is divided into six residential areas numbered one through six. After 1975 Phường Vĩnh Tân’s area became part of Tân Phú Hiệp xã. On March 11 1977 Châu Thành district was dissolved and Tân Phú Hiệp xã was transferred to Tân Uyên district. August 29 1994 Tân Phú Hiệp xã was divided into two wards Phú Chánh and Vĩnh Tân. On December 29 2013 Vĩnh Tân xã became a ward of the newly formed Tân Uyên town. Finally on February 1 2020 the National Assembly approved Resolution 857NQ-UBTVQH14 establishing Phường Vĩnh Tân. This new ward incorporated the entire 32.41 square kilometers and 22212 people of Vĩnh Tân xã. The history of Phường Vĩnh Tân is a story of gradual growth and evolution within the larger context of Bình Dương province. It reflects the administrative changes and population shifts that have shaped this region of Vietnam. Today Phường Vĩnh Tân stands as a vibrant community reflecting its rich history.
