Hidden within the vibrant tapestry of Phnom Penh lies Phum Kakab. Phum Kakab is a part of the Pou Senchey district. Pou Senchey has seen significant administrative changes over the years. Originally, part of Dangkao district, Pou Senchey became its own district in 2011. It incorporated thirteen Sangkats, including Kakab, from Dangkao. Later, some Sangkats were moved to form Prek Pnov and Sen Sok districts. Further restructuring in 2016 and 2019 led to the creation of Kamboul district. These shifts highlight the dynamic urban development of Phnom Penh and the evolving nature of Phum Kakab’s place within it. Today, Phum Kakab sits within one of the seven remaining Sangkats of Pou Senchey. It is a testament to the ongoing growth and change in this dynamic area of Phnom Penh.
