On a warm July day in 2015, the Phnom Penh Promised People Presbyterian Church’s dance group graced a momentous occasion. Their blessing dance ushered in the inaugural service of the Synod Presbyterian Church in Cambodia (SPCC). This event also marked the first ordination service in Phnom Penh. Held in conjunction with the Presbyterian Church in Singapore (PCS), the service celebrated the SPCC’s official registration with the Cambodian government. Over 240 individuals, representing more than 20 churches and organizations, witnessed this significant milestone at the Phnom Penh Promised People Presbyterian Church.
The ceremony included the unveiling of the SPCC plaque. Distinguished guests, including a special advisor to the President of Cambodia, offered words of encouragement and support for the church’s role in serving the Cambodian people. The ordination of the first SPCC ministers followed, a moment of profound joy and excitement. The newly ordained ministers received blessings for their future ministries, adding another layer of significance to the Phnom Penh Promised People Presbyterian Church’s story.
