The Philo Mural, created by artist Lanni Power in 2017, explodes off this ordinary street cabinet. It’s part of the Dublin Canvas project, a city-wide initiative breathing life into forgotten corners. Lynott, the frontman of Thin Lizzy, was born in England but raised in Dublin. He became a global rock icon, his music forever entwined with the spirit of this city.
Sadly, his star burned bright but faded too soon. Lynott passed away in 1986 at just 36 years old. His legacy, however, continues to resonate, especially here in Dublin. His music, a potent blend of hard rock and Celtic influences, still roars from pubs and airwaves.
