Griesheim saw great change after the Second World War. The Pfingstkirche stands as a testament to this growth. Many displaced people arrived. Among them were numerous Protestants. This influx significantly increased the membership of the local Protestant parish. The existing church in Griesheim could no longer accommodate the growing number of worshippers.

In 1954 the parish built a new community hall. This hall was transformed into the Pfingstkirche in 1966. Ernst Görke a Frankfurt architect designed the house of God. His modern style shaped the church we see today.

The Pfingstkirche boasts a set of four bells. These bells were cast in 1955 and 1967. The Rincker bell foundry in Hesse created them. Each bell has its own unique tone and size. Together they form a harmonious sound. The largest bell cast in 1967 weighs 930 kg. It measures 1150 mm in diameter. The second bell cast in 1955 weighs 650 kg and measures 1025 mm. The third bell cast in 1955 weighs 330 kg and measures 840 mm. The smallest bell cast in 1967 weighs 305 kg and measures 805 mm.

Today the Pfingstkirche continues to serve the Protestant community in Griesheim. It is part of the Frankfurt and Offenbach city deanery. This deanery belongs to the Protestant Church in Hesse and Nassau. The church stands as a symbol of faith community and architectural innovation in Frankfurt.
