Here, before us, soars the Pendelmobile. This sculpture by Max Schegulla invites us to explore art in public space.

The Pendelmobile was created in 1978. Max Schegulla, a German sculptor, designed it. You can find this impressive piece in Hamburg-Steilshoop. It stands in front of the residential complex at Cäsar-Klein-Ring 2-8.

The Pendelmobile is made of light metal. Its core structure is a tripod. This tripod is about 6 meters high. It is crafted from fire-galvanized steel tubes. Steel cables and chains suspend various elements from the tripod. These include four spheres. You can also see different sheet metal forms.

In 1978 the housing association GWG purchased the sculpture. Today, GWG is known as SAGA. The purchase was part of the “Kunst am Bau” program. This translates to “Art in Architecture”.
