In 2013, Portugal embarked on a nationwide administrative reform. Pedreira, Rande e Sernande wasn’t always a single entity. It was formed by merging three previously independent parishes: Pedreira, Rande, and Sernande. The merger aimed to streamline local administration and improve efficiency. With a combined area of almost 7 square kilometers, Pedreira, Rande e Sernande is now home to over 3,000 people. Although the administrative landscape has changed, the unique identities of the original parishes still resonate within Pedreira, Rande e Sernande. Each of these former parishes had its own history and character, contributing to the rich tapestry of the new, unified parish.
