It took John DiRusso ten years to get it done. The Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge is a truly remarkable testament to his perseverance and dedication. John was a World War II veteran and wanted to honor the memory of those who died at Pearl Harbor. He fought hard to have this bridge named after the tragic attack in Hawaii, and his efforts paid off. In 2001, Governor Tom Ridge signed the bill, changing the name of the bridge. This powerful bridge, carrying the Blue Route (I-476) over the Schuylkill River, is now a lasting tribute to the brave men and women who fought for our country. The bridge stands strong and proud, reminding us of the sacrifices made on that fateful day. It’s a wonderful reminder of the courage and resilience of the American people in the face of adversity.
