In 1986, the church in Vimodrone, which is a suburb of Milan, was only a single room. Back then, it was called the Chapel of Saint Anna. Don Mario, a man of great faith and energy, saw a need for a place where the community could grow. He started organizing meetings, teaching, and spreading the word of God. Three years later, in 1989, he was ready to announce the creation of a new parish, Parrocchia Dio Trinità D’Amore. What began as a small group of a few dozen people transformed into a vibrant community of four thousand. What makes the story so unique is that the church built itself upon love. Every aspect, every service, and every event that took place was guided by the principles of love, unity, and compassion. In 1988, the parish council was formed, and in 1997, Don Mario’s dream was fully realized. The building of the Parrocchia Dio Trinità D’Amore was complete. Today, the church, a symbol of unity and devotion, stands tall in the heart of a suburban community. It’s a reminder that faith and love can work wonders. The church, a place for spiritual growth, also embraced a dynamic, international outreach. The Parrocchia Dio Trinità D’Amore established a unique practice: twinning with other parishes. The goal? To bring the community together, share experiences, and offer mutual support. The Parrocchia Dio Trinità D’Amore, as the story goes, twinned with the “Dio Padre” parish in Segrate. The community of Vimodrone, with its youthful spirit, offered its experiences and knowledge to the other parish. The “Dio Padre” parish, more affluent, provided resources for the construction and development of the new church in Vimodrone. This initiative, in its time, was a novel concept. The Cardinal, impressed by this model of cooperation, encouraged other parishes to follow suit. The Parrocchia Dio Trinità D’Amore took its mission a step further, actively reaching out to other parishes throughout the Milan archdiocese. Don Mario, the visionary priest, shared his inspiring story. In 1989, his dream was complete. In 2003, the church was consecrated by Cardinal Dionigi Tettamanzi, a testament to its significance.
