Remember Pablo Ráez? This park, Parque Pablo Ráez, is named in his honor. Pablo’s story is one of courage and the power of human connection.

Parque Pablo Ráez stands as a tribute to a young man from Marbella. He battled leukemia with remarkable spirit. Diagnosed in 2015, Pablo turned his personal struggle into a nationwide campaign. His goal was simple. He wanted to raise awareness about the critical need for bone marrow donation.

Pablo’s weapon was social media. With the motto “Siempre Fuerte” meaning always strong, his message spread like wildfire. His efforts had a tangible impact. After his death in February 2017, bone marrow donations skyrocketed in Spain. In Madrid alone, over 2,000 people registered as donors.

The Ciudad Lineal district recognized Pablo’s contribution. They unanimously approved the proposal to dedicate this park to him. The inauguration coincided with what would have been his birthday. A monolith bearing his name stands here. An olive tree from his native Marbella was planted.

Parque Pablo Ráez is more than just a green space. It is a symbol. It represents Pablo’s fight, his unwavering optimism, and his lasting legacy. His father said Pablo became a beacon of love and perseverance.

Spain has been a world leader in organ donation for 26 years. Madrid leads the country in donations. Pablo Ráez inspired countless individuals to step forward and potentially save lives.

As you wander through Parque Pablo Ráez take a moment to reflect. Consider the impact one person can have. Think about the importance of bone marrow donation. Remember Pablo’s message: Siempre Fuerte. Let his story inspire you to embrace your own inner strength. Let it also inspire you to contribute to the well-being of others. This park, named Parque Pablo Ráez serves as a reminder of the power of solidarity.
