Launched in a Spirit filled journey Parliament Chapel International began with Apostle Francis Amoako Attah. He answered God’s call in the 1990s. He came from an Apostolic and Pentecostal background. He felt a passion to minister to lost souls. He wanted to spread the gospel.
Now, standing before Parliament Chapel International reflect on its origins. Apostle Francis Amoako Attah started as an evangelist. Over the years his vision intensified. The coming of Christ became more imminent. This vision birthed Freedom Chapel International. It is a Pentecostal and Charismatic Christian Church.
Consider how Parliament Chapel International confirms the tangible Presence and Will of God. The Church started with morning devotions. The founder held them in a compound house. He lived there with his friend. As the number of members increased, it grew into a Prayer Group. They met every Thursday and Saturday. In time, it became one of the most effective prayer groups in the country.
People were helped. They were catered for in various ways. Some received financial support. Others were sent for free skills training. They got medical help, intellectual support, and shelter. Because of these gestures, members and outsiders called the Prayer Group We Care.
Imagine the steady increase in members. This led to forming a Fellowship. It was named International Christian Fellowship. It operated from June 1997 to 1999. Services were held without offerings from day one.
Most Fellowship members stopped attending their regular churches on Sundays. Instead, they gathered for fellowship. Eventually, they requested Sunday Church Services. The Fellowship changed to a Church. It was named Freedom Chapel International.
The name Freedom Chapel arose from the founder’s desire to redeem his members. He sought to help anyone who contacted him spiritually and in other ways. He was named a Freedom Fighter. Men of God had revelations about the name Freedom. After prayer, Freedom Chapel was chosen.
Picture the church moving to a new location. This enhanced population growth. Prophet Amoako-Attah was to be ordained as an Apostle in two weeks. Thousands of worshippers helped build a building for the ordination.
The historic move occurred on May 15th, 2006. The church moved from Nyamekye to Odorkor Official Town. It was a newly acquired property. It was built in two weeks. It stood three kilometers from the original prayer group location. Symbolically, it was a significant national event.
Remember the great men and women who shaped Apostle Francis Amoako-Attah’s ministry. Rev. Dr. Nana Anyani Boado and Prophet Frank Sarkodie stand out. Bishop Michael Adofo and Mama Thess also played key roles. Rev. Mrs. Mavis Amoako-Attah and Most Rev. Apostle Sam Korankye Ankrah contributed as well.
