“Mission-Minded and Mission-Driven” This motto encapsulates the spirit of Parkview Baptist Church. It started humbly in November 1956. A small group gathered for Sunday school at Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Skinner’s home. Rev. T.J. Ellis from Eastside Baptist led the first worship service.
Parkview Baptist Church officially became a church on December 9 1957. Easter Sunday of that year marked the completion of the educational building. The first service saw 73 members. By November 1957 the congregation had grown significantly. The first service in the present sanctuary welcomed 132 members.
Growth continued steadily at Parkview Baptist Church. To accommodate this growth the Custer house was purchased. The property at 609 Parkview Place was also acquired. A new family life center was added in 1989. It included classrooms and office space.
