In 1956 a small group began holding Sunday school in a home. That humble beginning blossomed into Parkview Baptist Church. This wasn’t just any church. It was a place where faith took root. It grew from a handful of people to a thriving congregation.

Parkview Baptist Church’s story is one of growth and resilience. It started as Parkview Baptist Chapel. The first worship service was led by Rev TJ Ellis. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church at the time. The church officially organized on December 9 1957. That year they held their first service in their new educational building on Easter Sunday.

The early years were filled with expansion. Parkview Baptist Church steadily grew. They added space buying the Custer house and property at 609 Parkview Place. In 1989 a new family life center opened with classrooms and offices.

Parkview wasn’t just focused inward. They had a strong missionary spirit. In 1969 they helped establish Crestview Baptist Church. This shows their commitment to spreading their faith. Their mission extended beyond their walls.

Today Parkview Baptist Church stands as a testament to faith perseverance and community. It’s a legacy built on the foundations laid by those early members. It continues to serve its community and spread its message. The church’s history is a reminder of the power of faith. It’s a story of growth from a simple Sunday school to a vibrant place of worship.
