Wouldn’t it be nice to unwind in a green oasis? Parc Morgan is just that. It is a fantastic place to relax and enjoy nature. You can participate in outdoor activities too.
Parc Morgan offers a children’s play area. There is also a hill perfect for winter sledding. The park is located at 4370 Rue Sainte-Catherine Est in Montreal.
Parc Morgan recently underwent a two-year renovation. It cost almost 2$ million. The result is a park with two fantastic playgrounds. It also boasts one of the coolest splash pads around.
What makes the Parc Morgan splash pad so different? It is huge. Except for two water cannons, it is made of ground jets. A “stream” meanders downhill. It connects to the original water feature with a trio of statues. These statues spray a gentle mist. The sequence of water jets is mesmerizing. The sprays remind people of fireworks.
The big-kid playground in Parc Morgan has a giant Little Tikes Commercial play structure. This castle-themed structure offers challenging features. These include a massive Infinity Web climber, bridges, ladders, rock climbing walls and slides. It’s all on wood chips. Adult swings are nearby.
You can find new outdoor fitness equipment by Playworld here. There is a bike trail and picnic tables too. The toddler play area is also worth checking out.
The toddler area in Parc Morgan has another castle climber. It has easy-to-climb “stone” stairs, a bridge walkway and multiple slides. Ladders and rope climbers add to the fun. Benches, toddler-sized picnic tables and baby swings round out the equipment.
The two playgrounds in Parc Morgan are on opposite sides of the water section. There is some fencing around the toddler zone. The big-kids’ part has no fencing.
The original stone chalet is a key feature of Parc Morgan. Washrooms are underneath it. You can also find a decorative fountain in front. Lounge chairs and picnic tables are available. Beautifully landscaped walkways invite exploration. A terrain de pétanque awaits those seeking a game.
If you get hungry, several restaurants are nearby. Les Affamés is a couple of blocks west of Parc Morgan. A Metro grocery store is directly across the street. There’s also a Dairy Queen just east of the park.
The Parc Morgan splash pad is open from 9 am to 10 pm. Bathrooms are in the park’s main building. They should be open during the day.
While here, remember the Morgan family. Henry Morgan arrived in Montreal in 1844 from Scotland. He and David Smith opened a store. It sold draperies and household linens. The business became Henry Morgan & Company. It later opened the first department store in North America. The Morgan family business lasted over 100 years.
Parc Morgan invites you to relax. Enjoy its playground and splash pad. Remember the Morgan family’s legacy.
