Observing Pamuklar Mahallesi today, it’s hard to imagine its humble beginnings. Pamuklar Mahallesi, a neighborhood in Ankara’s Yenimahalle district, has seen tremendous growth. It’s now a vibrant part of the Şentepe area. Originally, Pamuklar Mahallesi was designed to provide housing for civil servants and workers. The construction of the E5 highway and the metro spurred rapid development. This led to significant urban transformation. Pamuklar Mahallesi became a focal point for urban development in Şentepe. Today, modern apartment buildings dominate the landscape. The population has exploded. In 2007, around 8,384 people resided in Pamuklar Mahallesi. By 2023, that number had more than doubled to 17,865 residents. This demonstrates the neighborhood’s increasing popularity. Pamuklar Mahallesi is governed by a Muhtar and an elected council, ensuring local representation and administration. This bustling neighborhood is more than just concrete. Green spaces and sports facilities, like tennis courts, are tucked away amidst the urban sprawl. Despite ongoing development, Pamuklar Mahallesi still retains some of its planned character. It remains a dynamic and evolving neighborhood within Ankara.
