Hidden amongst the palo verde trees, from which it draws its name, lies Palo Verde High School. It’s more than just bricks and mortar. It’s a crucible where dreams are forged and futures are shaped. Palo Verde High School opened its doors in 1996, in the burgeoning community of Summerlin, Las Vegas. Initially, ten portable classrooms supplemented the main building, a testament to the rapid growth of the area. Imagine the scene: a brand new school, surrounded by the vibrant green of the palo verde trees, buzzing with the energy of its first students.
Palo Verde High School isn’t just a place of learning; it’s a launchpad for remarkable individuals. This school has nurtured some incredible talents. Did you know that Broadway star Elle McLemore walked these halls? Or that UFC Octagon Girl Arianny Celeste honed her charisma within these walls? Palo Verde’s alumni list reads like a who’s who of diverse achievements, from Olympic swimmers Cody Miller and Erica Sullivan, to professional baseball pitcher Brandon Kintzler. Even the music world has been touched by Palo Verde, with both Brendon Urie, lead singer of Panic! at the Disco, and Brent Wilson, the band’s former bassist, graduating from here. And let’s not forget WWE wrestler Ryan Reeves, known as Ryback, who brought his own brand of theatrics to Palo Verde before stepping into the ring.
