Faded frescoes and whispers of noble families haunt these walls. This is Palazzo Lucini Arborio Mella. It stands as a testament to centuries of history in San Giorgio su Legnano.

This historic residence was built between the late 17th and early 18th centuries. Its story is entwined with prominent local figures. Initially, in the early 18th century, the building belonged to Count Francesco Lucini. The palazzo then passed to the Arborio Mella family. This is how it got its current name.

Notice the wrought-iron balcony, an elegant detail. It hints at the artistic treasures within Palazzo Lucini Arborio Mella. Inside, the main hall is adorned with a vaulted ceiling. It is frescoed by the talented Biagio Bellotti. These paintings were created around 1750 during some renovation work.

In 1922, Teodoro dei conti Mella sold the villa. It was subsequently divided into various properties. For a brief period, from 1924 to 1929, part of Palazzo Lucini Arborio Mella served as the town hall.

Originally, the villa had a historic garden. Sadly, it was sold to the parish. This allowed for the construction of the church Beata Vergine Assunta. Also the ex-cinema Sotera, the former female oratory, and a parking lot were constructed there.

Later on, part of the building housed the municipal library. After that it became a nursery. Palazzo Lucini Arborio Mella has changed over time. But its walls continue to echo stories of noble families. Its art and architecture reminds visitors of its rich past. As you stand here take a moment. Imagine the counts and countesses. They once strolled through its halls. See Biagio Bellotti put the finishing touches to his frescoes. Palazzo Lucini Arborio Mella offers a glimpse into a bygone era. It connects us to the history of San Giorgio su Legnano.
