Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Science College, or MSPSBS as it’s locally known, is renowned for its academic rigor. This prestigious institution only admits the brightest students, holding them to high standards in both academics and extracurricular activities. The college’s journey began humbly in 1966 as Sekolah Menengah Melayu Pertama (SMMP), Brunei Town’s first Malay secondary school. A pivotal moment arrived on September 23rd, 1971. SMMP was officially renamed Paduka Seri Begawan Malay College in honor of Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien III. This marked the beginning of its transformation into the esteemed institution it is today. Throughout the years, Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Science College underwent several name changes and relocations, each time reflecting its growth and adaptation to the evolving educational landscape. The college even had a temporary stay in Kampong Rimba for 11 years while its original premises underwent renovations! Finally, on April 2nd, 2005, Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Science College returned to its current location, standing as a testament to its enduring commitment to academic excellence and the pursuit of knowledge in Brunei.
