Sculpted from dark natural stone, the Paar Torso evokes a sense of timeless intimacy. The Paar Torso sits within Bürgerpark Marzahn, gracing Raoul-Wallenberg-Straße with its presence. The sculpture features two torsos. One figure reclies while the other sits. They rest on a light-colored, almost cube-shaped pedestal. A square plinth, slightly overhanging the pedestal, adds to the sculpture’s unique profile. The Paar Torso’s rounded, soft forms create a captivating interplay of light and shadow. Created by Peter Kern, the Paar Torso’s journey began in 1988. It was formally completed on October 10, 1988. However, it wasn’t installed in its current location until August 1999.
