Founded in 1960 Our Lady of Remedies Parish Church has a relatively recent history. Its story however intertwines with a much older tale. Legend says Ferdinand Magellan gifted an image of Virgen de los Remedios to Queen Juana in 1521. This image is now lost to time. The Sto Niño and Ecce Homo were the two other gifts.
Notice the architecture as we approach Our Lady of Remedies Parish Church. The entrance features a cantilevered ceiling over the portico. A short staircase leads to a rectilinear door. Rectangular windows flank each side of the door.
The facade has a recessed central section. Three arches adorn this section. The middle arch holds a concrete niche. It shows the patroness holding the Holy Child. Her feet rest firmly on clouds. A modern church tower stands on the epistle side. A cross crowns the tower.
Step inside Our Lady of Remedies Parish Church. You will see three naves. Fluted composite pillars line the main nave. These pillars support arches. Above the clerestory are arch windows. These windows feature tracery and stained glass panes. The side nave walls have rectangular apertures. Semicircles top these apertures with stained glass.
Three arch windows grace the apse wall. Their panes depict theological images. The retablo features red ochre and gold. Alcoves of holy figures flank the tabernacle.
