In June of 1922, amidst a time of growth and change, Our Lady of Peace Church was established. It was a beacon of faith for the burgeoning Catholic community of Ridley Township. Right now, you’re standing in front of the current Our Lady of Peace Church. This magnificent structure wasn’t the first to house the parish’s faithful. Before this, a smaller church, built in 1929, stood on this very ground. Imagine the sound of hammers and saws as the community came together to build their first house of worship. That first church, now the Parish Center, holds within its walls eight original classrooms, a testament to the parish’s commitment to education. In 1956, this beautiful church, where we stand today, was built, a testament to the enduring legacy of Our Lady of Peace Church in Milmont Park. It has seen cosmetic changes over the years. The baptistery found a new location, and statues now grace spaces once occupied by confessionals. Yet, through it all, Our Lady of Peace Church remains a steadfast presence, a symbol of enduring faith.
