In 1993 the city council approved the addition of a Gymnasium upper level. It was approved for the 1995/96 school year. Since 2004 the Otto-Hahn-Schule has offered Gymnasium classes in grades 5 and 6. It is one of the only two schools in Frankfurt to offer all general education paths.
