Founded in 1929, Osaka International Takii High School has a rich history. It began as the Teikoku School of Higher Education for Women. This school was affiliated with Teikoku Pharmaceutical College for Women. In 1938, it was incorporated as Teikoku Gakuen Foundation.

After educational reforms in 1947, Teikoku Gakuen Junior High School was founded. A year later, in 1948, the Teikoku School of Higher Education for Women became Teikoku Women’s High School. The Teikoku Gakuen Foundation was reorganized in 1951 becoming the Teikoku Gakuen Educational Foundation. The foundation continued to expand. In 1952, Teikoku Gakuen Kindergarten was founded.

In 1959, the Department of Business was established in Teikoku Women’s High School. The school continued to grow and evolve. In 1962, Teikoku Women’s High School opened its Owada Campus. That same year, Teikoku Women’s Junior College was founded. It had a Department of Domestic Science. A Department of English Literature was added to the junior college in 1963.

The Teikoku Women’s University was founded in 1965. It featured a Department of Domestic Science. Also in 1965, Teikoku Gakuen Owada Kindergarten was founded. The university expanded its offerings. In 1966, the Department of Food Science and Nutrition was established. A Nutritionist Course opened in 1968. The Department of Clothing was established in 1969.

The Department of Pedology was founded in 1972. Teikoku Gakuen Junior High School closed in 1974. The Department of Domestic Science closed in 1975. Teikoku Women’s Junior College established a Department of Early Childhood Education in 1976. Teikoku Women’s University Kindergarten opened in 1977. The Owada Campus became independent. In 1978, it was renamed Teikoku Women’s University Owada High School. The school celebrated its 50th anniversary in 1979.

In 1984, the Department of Intercultural Relations was founded. Teikoku Gakuen Junior High School was renamed in 1985. It became Teikoku Women’s University Owada Junior High School. Osaka International University was founded in 1988. It had a Department of Management and Information Science. The school celebrated its 60th anniversary in 1989.

A significant change occurred in 1992. The name Teikoku was replaced with Osaka International. This change affected all of the foundation’s schools. In 1993, Osaka International Takii High School closed its Department of Business.

In 2002, Osaka International Takii High School established the Department of Global Study. In 2022, Osaka International High School opened. Also in 2022, Osaka International Junior High School opened. Osaka International Takii High School combined with Osaka International Junior High School and High School at a new campus in 2024. Today, Osaka International Takii High School stands as a testament to growth.
