Is it bigger than it looks on TV? This blue wonder right here, that’s the Original Löwenzahn-Bauwagen. It housed a beloved German television icon, Peter Lustig, for an astounding 25 years. This wasn’t just a set. It was the heart of the children’s show “Löwenzahn”, bringing science and nature to life from 1980 to 2005. Klaus Fischer designed the Original Löwenzahn-Bauwagen, and the company Clausing & Wrede GmbH actually built it. Look closely. See those drawers on the outside? Those were for tools, reflecting Peter’s hands-on approach to learning. The Original Löwenzahn-Bauwagen had quirks you might have missed on screen. A staircase made of chairs, a split stable-style door, and even a skylight. It even boasted a fold-up bed, transforming the dining area into a bedroom. Sadly, time hasn’t been kind to the Original Löwenzahn-Bauwagen. Although it’s regularly repainted, some parts are fading. Still, standing here, you can almost hear Peter’s friendly voice and feel the magic of the show.
