Can you believe this whole complex was once just a dream in the mind of Stephen M. Ross? Right here, at One MiMA Tower, a stylized abbreviation for “Middle of Manhattan,” that dream became a reality. One MiMA Tower, a striking mixed-use building, stands tall amidst the bustling energy of Hell’s Kitchen. One MiMA Tower isn’t just a building. It’s a vertical city. It combines luxury rentals, condominiums, and a Yotel hotel. This architectural marvel was designed by the Miami-based firm Arquitectonica. Construction began in 2007 and was completed in 2011. The skyscraper stretches an impressive 63 stories high. It contains 43 floors of luxury rentals, followed by twelve floors of condominiums. One MiMA Tower also boasts an impressive amenity package. There’s a private health club, an outdoor movie theater, and even “Dog City,” a full-service pet spa and dog run. One MiMA Tower isn’t just about luxury living for humans. It caters to their furry friends too. One MiMA Tower is also technologically advanced. It was one of the first buildings with a distributed antenna system. This system enhances cell phone service throughout the building. In 2012, One MiMA Tower welcomed the Pershing Square Signature Center. This renowned theater complex, designed by Frank Gehry, is located within the building itself. It features three theater spaces, two studios, and a communal lobby area with a café, bar, bookshop, and concierge desk. More recently, in 2022, One MiMA Tower expanded its offerings. The UPS Store opened in the retail section on West 42nd Street, providing shipping and business services. The same year, Nicol Squash, an indoor squash facility, opened its doors. It offers five full-size squash courts, lessons for all ages, kids’ camps, and parties. The building’s initial advertising campaign cleverly presented “MiMA” as a new neighborhood acronym, much like SoHo and TriBeCa. This creative marketing tactic sought to establish One MiMA Tower as a distinct destination within the vibrant tapestry of Manhattan. One MiMA Tower, a modern marvel, offers a glimpse into a luxurious and interconnected urban lifestyle.
