Soon, this grand old structure will share its space with a gleaming new neighbor: a 175-meter skyscraper known as “The Headquarters.” The contrast is striking. The aged, tan-colored walls of the Old Police Headquarters will stand in the shadow of a crystalline tower, a symbol of modern architectural ambition. This ambitious project, slated for completion in 2026, promises to breathe new life into this historic site. The Old Police Headquarters won’t be demolished. Instead, it will be integrated into a vibrant new quarter. Imagine a mix of modern offices, residential spaces, and even a kindergarten nestled beside this historic building. The development also includes plans for expanding the existing Falkschule with a gymnasium and additional classrooms. This ambitious plan, a result of a design competition won by Meixner Schlächter Wendt Architekten in 2020, aims to bridge the gap between Frankfurt’s historic core and the modern Europaviertel.
