Olcella was born in 1461 when Aloisio Della Croce, a well-known Milanese citizen, obtained permission to build a farmhouse on his land in the northern part of Busto Garolfo. The farmhouse, called “Cassina Giella,” was a collection of houses, marking the beginning of what we know today as Olcella. Olcella, nestled between the towns of Arconate and Dairago, is a place of tranquility, where time seems to move at a slower pace. Many people believe that Villa Cortese was once part of Olcella. This split caused a rivalry between the villages, leading to humorous insults about their respective populations. Even today, Olcella sits discreetly in the shadow of Busto Garolfo, a quiet reminder of the town’s long legacy.
