“Ever wonder where Bucharest’s artistic heart beats?” That’s OB’ART. This gallery is a hub where creativity thrives. It is a place where emerging artists find support. The Royal Foundation Margareta of Romania and the National Museum of Art of Romania support young talents. They promote contemporary art here at OB’ART.

OB’ART provides an inspiring platform for artists. It allows them to showcase their work. The Talent 35 Anniversary Exhibition is a key event. It features visual art from January 18 to February 23, 2025. The exhibition takes place in the Kretzulescu Halls. You will find it just opposite Kretzulescu Church.

Her Majesty Margareta and Her Royal Highness Princess Sofia graced the opening. Associate Professor Dr. Ion Anghel curates the exhibition. He mentors young artists within the Young Talents program. His presence ensures high-quality artistic guidance.

The National Museum of Art of Romania has more to offer. On the third floor, you will find the Gallery of Oriental Art. It features nearly 600 art objects. They come from Azerbaijan and Bulgaria. There are pieces from China and Dagestan. You will also discover art from Egypt and Greece. India, Iran, Japan, Syria, Turkey, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan are all represented. The collection is managed by NMAR. It is the most significant collection of its kind in Romania.

The European Decorative Arts Gallery is nearby. It illustrates four centuries of European taste. The gallery showcases innovations and craftsmanship. Pieces originate from Austria and Belgium. The Czech Republic, Switzerland, France, and Germany are included. Italy, Holland, Spain, and Russia are all represented. The collection spans the 16th to 19th centuries.

The National Museum of Art of Romania underwent extensive redevelopment. The earthquake in 1986 and the fire in 1989 heavily affected the spaces. The reopening required creating showcases. These meet the latest standards for security and display.

The European Decorative Art Gallery has a digital component. The MyMNAR application enhances visits. It provides an interactive way to complement the exhibition. Access is through entrance A2 on floor 3.

Consider the \”Tadeusz Kantor – Always and Everywhere an Artist\” exhibition. It highlights Kantor’s versatility. He was a director, set designer, and actor. He was also a painter and theorist. The exhibition features paintings, assemblages, and sculptures. It includes set designs for theater plays. Photographs document his plays.

Throughout the exhibition, related events take place. Workshops and art installations offer interaction. Screenings of Kantor’s iconic plays are organized. These events enrich the experience.

The National Museum of Art of Romania is the country’s prime holder of art. It includes Romanian, European, and Oriental art. The museum is in the former Royal Palace. Visitors can join guided tours of the Throne Hall.

So, as you stand before OB’ART, remember its role. It nurtures artistic talent. It provides a space for cultural exchange. It is a testament to Bucharest’s vibrant art scene.
