The imposing hexagonal structure stands before you. This is the Nuova Chiesa Parrocchiale della Presentazione del Signore. Its story begins not with grand pronouncements but with a quiet need. The old church in Mesero was simply too small. Nearly 3000 souls struggled for space within its aging walls.

The Nuova Chiesa Parrocchiale della Presentazione del Signore wasn’t built overnight. It took years of effort. The faithful of Mesero contributed generously. Their collective donations fueled the construction starting in 1965. Architect Mario Bussi designed the innovative space. It opened its doors on Christmas night 1972. Archbishop Carlo Maria Martini consecrated it on October 18 1980.

The church’s design is both practical and beautiful. The hexagonal shape is unique. A perimeter band houses chapels a baptistery the sacristy and connecting areas. Natural light streams through vibrant stained-glass windows. These were crafted by the renowned Scuola d’Arte Beato Angelico of Milan.

The marble altar deserves special attention. Sculptor Gino Casanova created it. It’s the centerpiece of the church’s iconographic and symbolic language. A side altar dedicated to Saint Gianna Beretta Molla holds some of her relics and votive offerings.

The cupola’s decoration was completed later in 2006. A specialist firm from Verona painted the Presentation of Jesus. This stunning artwork adds the finishing touch to the artistic decoration of the building. A plaque at the entrance proudly proclaims the church’s humble origins. It states that the entire construction was made possible by the modest and generous offerings of the parishioners.

The Nuova Chiesa Parrocchiale della Presentazione del Signore stands as a testament to faith community and the enduring power of collective effort. It is more than just a building. It is a vibrant heart of the Mesero community a place where stories are whispered and prayers are heard. It’s a place where the light of faith shines brightly.
