Is it possible for art to be both crazy and enduring? Here at the nufnuf-art foundation, that’s exactly the question they seem to be exploring. Don’t be fooled by the simple name, the nufnuf-art foundation houses a treasure trove of art, a collection of around 1,500 pieces ranging from paintings and sculptures to those captivating graphic novels. Imagine a collection so vast, it encompasses the works of almost 400 artists. The foundation, established in 2013, is the brainchild of Hans Franz Thommen, an architect with a passion for art, and François Diserens, a man who split his life between the worlds of medicine and music. It’s as if they took their diverse passions and poured them into this unique project. And the best part is, the nufnuf-art foundation isn’t content to simply hoard these treasures. Their mission is to share, to loan these pieces to museums, schools, and even social institutions. They believe everyone deserves a glimpse into the world of art, a chance to be moved by a brushstroke or lost in the pages of a graphic novel. So, while you won’t find the nufnuf-art foundation on a typical tourist map, consider this your invitation to peek behind the curtain, to experience art in a truly personal and engaging way.
