That’s NRWision. The project is the brainchild of Michael Steinbrecher, a well-known television moderator and journalism professor. Launched in 2009 as a pilot project, NRWision initially went by the name “.NRW”. It aimed to provide an innovative model for public access television in North Rhine-Westphalia. The station began its test run on Unitymedia’s digital cable network, and its reach has grown ever since. Today, NRWision broadcasts on channel 84, reaching approximately four million households across North Rhine-Westphalia. In 2010, the station took a significant step forward. It launched its livestream on its website and, after a public vote, adopted the name “NRWision”. The name resonated with viewers and producers, signifying a vision for media in North Rhine-Westphalia. NRWision offers more than just a television channel. It’s a complete media portal with a comprehensive online media library. Here, you can find a diverse collection of programs, showcasing the talent and creativity of local producers.
