North Bergen High School is a public high school. It serves students in grades nine through twelve. Located at 7417 Kennedy Boulevard it’s a cornerstone of the North Bergen community. It’s also part of a unique educational partnership. Students from Guttenberg also attend this school.

The Bruins have a rich athletic legacy. Their football team boasts multiple state championships. Victories in 1977 1978 1984 1988 1990 and 1997 are just a few highlights. Their boys’ basketball team also reached a state championship game. The 2007 team came close but lost a nail-biting overtime game. This wasn’t just a game it was a moment that became part of the school’s rich history. Beyond sports North Bergen High School offers a wide range of extracurricular activities. From academic clubs to performance groups there’s something for everyone. The school’s vibrant arts program even gained national attention. In 2019 their production of Alien went viral. The impressive set designs and costumes made from recycled materials were incredible.

The school has also faced challenges. It has been recognized as an underfunded school in New Jersey. Despite this North Bergen High School continues to thrive. It consistently ranks among the best public high schools in New Jersey. This enduring spirit reflects the dedication of students faculty and the entire community.
