In 1965, it evolved into the Asian Institute of Educational Planning and Administration. Later, in 1973, it was renamed the National Staff College for Educational Planners and Administrators. Finally, in 1979, it became the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration NIEPA. In 2006, NIEPA was granted the status of a Deemed to be University.
