It served a community of approximately 500 families, around 2,700 parishioners. Over the years, the church thrived and grew, despite the challenges of the Vietnam War. The period between 1965 and 1975 brought significant hardship. The area was heavily impacted by the conflict, leading to a decrease in the number of parishioners.
Several key figures have shaped Nhà Thờ Ninh Phát’s journey. Father Gioan B. Nguyễn Công Tý played a crucial role. He established the church. He united the parishioners. He also established programs to support the community, focusing on activities like weaving and tailoring. He even extended help to people with disabilities. Later, Fathers Gioan Đinh Tiến Hoàn and Anrê Trần Minh Thống contributed to the development of the church. They oversaw construction of new facilities, including a community center and cemetery.
