What whispers echo within the weathered stones of Nhà Thờ Học Môn? Here, in the heart of Hóc Môn district, stands Nhà Thờ Học Môn. This unassuming church, nestled amidst the bustling energy of Ho Chi Minh City, holds within its walls a story spanning centuries. The original structure of Nhà Thờ Học Môn dates back to 1854. Imagine a small, humble chapel. Its influence, however, stretched far beyond its modest size, reaching across Hóc Môn district and even into the neighboring Củ Chi district. Fast forward to 1998, and the church underwent a significant transformation. Father Phạm Văn Hòe led the reconstruction, breathing new life into this historic place of worship. Nhà Thờ Học Môn isn’t just one unified structure. It comprises five distinct Giáo khu (church areas): Mẹ Thiên Chúa, Mẹ Phú Hộ, Me Lên Trời, Mẹ Mân Côi, and Mẹ Hằng Cứu Giúp. Each area contributes to the vibrant tapestry of the church’s community. Today, Nhà Thờ Học Môn serves as a testament to its enduring legacy. It is more than just a building. It’s a spiritual home, a community hub, and a living embodiment of faith, reflecting the rich history of Hóc Môn.
