This church isn’t just a building. It’s a testament to faith resilience and community. Originally established as the Martinho Mission it started small. Only about 50 families were part of this community. They were under the care of the Phu Hai parish within the Bien Hoa diocese.
For years the small mission persevered. Then in 1988 a significant change occurred. Father Paulo Maria made the decision to separate the Martinho Mission from Phu Hai. It became affiliated with the Thai Hiep parish. A year later it achieved independent status. Father Gioakim Nguyen Ba Tuoc became its leader.
Under his guidance the small mission grew. In 2010 Father Damminh elevated it to the status of a full church. Its name was changed to Nha tho Giao xu Thai An. Father Gioakim remained the church’s dedicated leader. He not only tended to the spiritual needs of his flock but also guided the construction of a new church building. A place for prayer and reflection.
Today the Nha tho Giao xu Thai An thrives. Its congregation continues to grow. It’s a vibrant hub for spiritual life. The church stands as a symbol of enduring faith in the face of change. A beacon of hope for the community it serves. It is surrounded by the bustling city. Yet it offers a sanctuary of peace and tranquility.
