Whispers of faith echo through time. This is Nha tho Giao xu Hai Duong. Imagine its humble beginnings in 1954. Many Catholics migrated from North Vietnam to this area seeking refuge. They settled in Ho Nai district Bien Hoa province. Their faith sustained them. They established Nha tho Giao xu Hai Duong.

Initially a small structure just 8 meters by 20 meters. It was built with simple materials. Father Giuse Pham Van Hy provided pastoral care. He guided the community. He helped them build their first church. Five years later a larger structure replaced the original church.

Father Dam minh Duong Cong Hien took over in 1971. He served as the church’s pastor. Five years later Father Dam minh Nguyen Van Lang passed the responsibility on to the Dong Thanh priests. The Dong Thanh priests still serve the church today. The church continues to grow and thrive.

Through the years the church expanded its ministries. Its services became more diverse. In 1986 Father Giuse Duong Van Quy spearheaded the construction of a new church hall. Father Dam minh Do Van Vang took over in 2002. He worked alongside the congregation. They built a new church. Construction started in 2003 concluding in 2005.

Today Father Gioan Kim Nguyen Duc Vu leads the parish. The community continues to grow. Its activities flourish. The church occupies an impressive 7 hectares of land. It stands as a testament to the enduring faith of its parishioners. A beacon of hope it has witnessed history. It serves as a center of worship and community for generations. It’s more than a building it’s a living testament to faith. A place where stories like these continue to unfold.

The church’s location is strategic. It borders other parishes. To the east is the Bac Hai parish. To the west is the Phu Tao parish. To the south lies the Gia Vien parish. To the north is the Loc Lam parish. Nha tho Giao xu Hai Duong stands at the heart of it all. A hub of faith community and history. A living monument to perseverance. A true testament to enduring faith and community spirit.
