Let’s step back in time to 1964. Imagine a small group of Catholics. They gathered here to build a simple house of prayer. They built a nguyện, a humble place for their faith. These early believers invited priests. Priests from the Saladiang and Đồng Công congregations came. They celebrated Mass on Sundays. This went on from 1964 to 1968.
In 1969, the Binh Chieu community was officially established. Father Đaminh Phạm Chí Thành led 764 parishioners. He became the first official priest.
Over the years several priests have served here. Father Giuse Trần Năng Luật served from 1973 to 1991. Father Phaolô Phạm Hùng Tịnh followed from 1991 to 1995. Father Giuse Vũ Anh Tuấn then took over in 1995.
In 2017, Father Giuse Nguyễn Hoàng Thanh became the head priest. In 2022, Father Giuse Nguyễn Nhật Trường became his assistant.
Nh\u00e0 Th\u1edd B\u00ecnh Chi\u1ec3u is dedicated to Đức Mẹ Mân Côi. This translates to Our Lady of the Rosary. It is a very important dedication.
Mass times vary throughout the week. On Sundays, Mass is celebrated at 5:00 AM, 7:00 AM, 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM. Weekday Masses are at 5:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Saturday Masses are at 5:00 AM, 5:30 PM and 7:00 PM.
