Founded in 1991 Nguyen Sieu School stands as a testament to dedication. It’s one of Hanoi’s first private schools. Senior Colonel Nguyen Trong Vinh and his wife established it. They named it after Nguyen Van Sieu a renowned 19th-century historian writer poet and cultural researcher. Initially located in a small space between Thanh Cong schools Nguyen Sieu School faced challenges. Limited budget led to at least eight moves. Despite these obstacles the school thrived.
Its reputation for high-quality education grew. The selective admissions process reflects this. It attracts many applicants despite higher than average tuition fees. The school’s success earned recognition. It received numerous awards and orders from the Vietnamese government. These accolades include two Third-class Labor Orders and one Second-class Labor Order. Nguyen Sieu School also achieved the highest tier of the Vietnam school assessment system.
In 2004 the school finally secured a permanent location. This is a one-hectare site in Cau Giay District. The initial three single-story buildings expanded. New buildings and additional floors were added. The completed buildings now stand five or six stories tall. This reflects the growing student body and curriculum expansion.
Nguyen Sieu School is innovative. It introduced the Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) program in 2014. This made it the first Vietnamese school with Cambridge accreditation for primary secondary and high schools. This program reflects the school’s commitment to international standards.
The school’s history is more than just buildings and programs. It’s about the people. It’s about students like Dam Thanh Xuan a wushu martial artist. Or Pham Khanh Linh a rock electronic and pop music artist. These alumni demonstrate the school’s impact. They carry the legacy of Nguyen Sieu School far beyond its walls. This remarkable institution continues to shape the future of Hanoi and Vietnam. Its story is one of perseverance dedication and outstanding achievement.
