Whispers of faith echo through Nghĩa trang Giáo xứ Thuận Hòa. This cemetery holds more than just graves. It cradles the heart of the Thuận Hòa community. Nghĩa trang Giáo xứ Thuận Hòa is a testament to their enduring faith and resilience.

In 1954, Catholic families, primarily from the Hai Phong Diocese, journeyed to the land known as Ấp Tân Hải. They sought new beginnings in Biên Hòa province. This marked the humble origins of the Thuận Hòa parish. Father Đaminh Nguyễn Hữu Đống guided them, nurturing their spiritual growth amidst the challenges of a new life. That same year, a temporary thatched house served as their first church. It was a beacon of hope, a place where they could gather for mass and find solace in prayer.

Three years later, Father Simon Hòa Nguyễn Văn Hiền officially changed the parish’s name to Thuận Hòa. He appointed Father Đaminh Phạm Quang Khanh as the first parish priest. In 1958, a new brick church replaced the simple thatched structure. It stood as a symbol of their growing community and unwavering devotion. Over the years, each priest contributed to the parish’s development. They not only nurtured the spiritual well-being of the parishioners but also oversaw the physical expansion of the church grounds.

In 1998, Father Marcô Nguyễn Tuyến Huyền took on the responsibility of leading Thuận Hòa. Under his guidance, construction began on a new church in 2000. This church was completed and consecrated in May 2001. Two years later, the bell tower was finished, along with the priest’s house and meeting halls.

The growth of Thuận Hòa continued under Father Micae Hoàng Đình Cung in 2005. He initiated the construction of additional buildings around the church. This further enhanced the parish’s role as the center of the community’s spiritual and social life. Later, Father Giuse Nguyễn Văn Hòa succeeded Father Micae. He ensured the church’s upkeep and facilitated the growth of community activities.

Nghĩa trang Giáo xứ Thuận Hòa stands as a quiet sentinel. It silently watches over the community it serves. Within its hallowed grounds lie generations of Thuận Hòa parishioners. Their stories are etched in the very fabric of the community. The cemetery serves as a poignant reminder of their faith, their struggles, and their enduring legacy within the vibrant narrative of Thuận Hòa.
