Here exists a beacon of faith. It is the New Rising Star Baptist Church. This church stands as a testament to community. It offers hope to those who seek solace.

Let’s journey back to the roots of Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church. It began on December 1 1976. Rev I. C. Green was the founder and pastor. The first service occurred on December 5 1976. Forty-three charter members attended. These included an associate minister and one deacon. Twenty choir members joined.

During that week Rev Milton Robinson found their first building. It was at 34 West 34th Street. Members chose to rent with the option to buy. The first service there was December 12 1976. Three new members joined that day. In 1977 they decided to purchase the building. Through hard work and prayer the building was paid off in 1986.

Over 35 years Rising Star grew. It now has over 1000 members. It also has 50 ministries. These address the needs of members and the community. Each year people from different backgrounds join the family. They impact the church through leadership and participation.

Rising Star has partnerships in Southern Arizona. One is Church on the Street. This ministry helps those in need. They literally hold church on the street each week. Rising Star partners with Goshen Ministries. This outreach serves African refugees in Southern Arizona. These projects extend Rising Star’s reach beyond its walls.

The church also has projects around the world. These include the National Baptist Convention New Initiatives Program and Christian Alliance for Children in Zambia Africa. They also support the Humanitarian Aid Foundation World Relief Organization.

In 2005 God blessed Rising Star to buy land. It was for a new 4.3-acre campus at 2800 East 36th street. A groundbreaking service took place October 29 2005. Construction finished. The church passed inspections. A victory march occurred on March 31 2007. It went from the old building to the new campus. The first official service was April 1 2007. It was one week before Easter.

God blessed Rising Star with a huge turnout. They built a multi-million-dollar state-of-the-art building. This campus helps them worship and equip people for ministry. That year they bought three houses east of the campus for parking. This gave them a total of five acres.

Pastor Lewis provides visionary leadership. Following the Holy Spirit the church has new life. Rising Star is a local church with a global reach. It ministers to the whole person with faith hope and love. Servant-leadership sound teaching and genuine love define Rising Star.

Rising Star Baptist Church is determined to let God build His church His way. The various ministries such as the Pastoral Ministry the Deacon’s Ministry or the Mother’s Ministry are an important part. The Music Ministry consists of four choirs. The Music Ministry has a vital role in the worship experience.

Remember the legacy of Rising Star. Consider its impact on countless lives. It continues to shine brightly. It guides all toward a brighter tomorrow.
