Seven souls, bound by faith, gathered in Madrid. They laid the cornerstone for what would become New Life Christian Fellowship in 2017. New Life Christian Fellowship isn’t just a church. It’s a testament to the vision of Peter McMillan, a seasoned church planter with over three decades of experience under his belt. Before gracing Madrid with his presence, Peter and his wife, Sharon, spent two decades planting churches in Venezuela. Their combined experience brought a unique perspective to the burgeoning Christian community in Northern Madrid. New Life Christian Fellowship aims to be more than just a place of worship. They envision equipping their members to plant other healthy churches, spreading their faith throughout Madrid and beyond. Their target area encompasses Monte Carmelo, Las Tablas, Sanchinarro, and Valdebebas, a region home to roughly 150,000 people. Many residents work for prominent oil companies, banks, and telecommunication giants. Interestingly, this area lacks a dedicated evangelical church, except for a Korean congregation. This makes New Life Christian Fellowship a unique spiritual hub in the region. In 2021, one of Europe’s largest urban development projects, Madrid Nuevo Norte, commenced adjacent to New Life Christian Fellowship’s location. This project has the potential to reshape the urban landscape and generate an estimated 241,700 new jobs, potentially bringing a new wave of individuals seeking spiritual guidance to New Life. The core team consists of seven dedicated members, with a basic group of 45. Remarkably, almost every Sunday, they welcome around 45 visitors, demonstrating the growing interest in their message. Their outreach extends even further. Each member actively prays for and witnesses to 3-5 friends, family members, and coworkers, creating a network of at least 140 individuals connected to New Life. Their future plans are ambitious. They aim to raise funds for a dedicated building, train members in expository preaching, and explore new outreach avenues. They dream of a membership of 80, a fully implemented leadership structure, and a stable financial foundation. Ultimately, they envision a future where the original American missionaries can phase out, leaving a self-sustaining Spanish congregation thriving in their wake. New Life Christian Fellowship’s journey is a testament to the power of faith, vision, and dedicated community building.
