“Imagine a seed.” New Faith Church started small but blossomed into something remarkable. In 1977, Reverend Theodore Roosevelt Williams, Sr. founded New Faith Missionary Baptist Church. He started with just 52 dedicated members.

The church focused on biblical principles. They showed a strong commitment to ministry. Nehemiah 4:6 inspired them. It says, “The people had a mind to work.” The early members worked hard for Christ.

By January 1978, New Faith had grown. Its membership reached 142 people. The church moved to its current location at 4315 West Fuqua. Ministries began impacting the community. This led to significant growth. Within two years, almost 700 people were members.

New Faith Church excelled at connecting with people of all ages. It kept a strong base of mature adults. It also attracted youth and young adults. Pastor Williams preached the Gospel passionately. He made it relevant and joyful.

Today, New Faith Church supports over 3,000 families. Dr. T. R. Williams led with biblical instruction. He followed the Holy Spirit and the Lordship of Christ. New ministries continue to develop. The church campus reflects its growth over the years. It shows a commitment to Christian discipleship.

New Faith established the Community of Faith Foundation in 2005. It serves the community with educational and social programs. In February 2022, New Faith Church celebrated 45 years. It thrives spiritually and numerically by following God’s directives.

After 30 years, Dr. Theodore R. Williams, Sr. prepared to pass the leadership. In 2006, he hired Rev. Andre J. Lewis as Youth and Young Adult Pastor. Rev. Lewis then became Executive Pastor. He learned from Dr. Williams. In 2012, Rev. Andre J. Lewis became Assistant Pastor. He was named Dr. Williams’ successor.

In 2015, Pastor Williams announced his retirement for June 2017. He also announced Rev. Dr. Andre Jermaine Lewis as the next pastor. The congregation unanimously accepted Rev. Lewis. On August 6, 2017, Rev. Dr. Andre Jermaine Lewis became the Senior Pastor of New Faith Church.

Two major events happened in 2017. First, Dr. Theodore Roosevelt Williams, Sr. retired after 40 years. Second, Dr. Andre Jermaine Lewis became the second Pastoral Leader. The church, community, and city leaders witnessed these events.

New Faith Church plans for the future. It will engage the community through prayer. It will persevere, proclaim, and praise Jesus Christ. The congregation trusts in God’s faithfulness. He orchestrated the beginning through Dr. Theodore Roosevelt Williams, Sr. He sanctioned Dr. Andre Jermaine Lewis’ calling. He prepares a hopeful future for New Faith Church.

The Minister’s Coalition of Harris County also met here. It was originally named New Faith Baptist Church N.E. M.D. Morrison Sr., the pastor of New Faith Baptist Church N.E., was selected as the first president.

Submitting a prayer request is simple. The team prays for you confidentially. New Faith Church embraces prayer. It trusts in God’s guidance.
